On 11th May, 2013 Pakistan won and its sworn enemies lost. It was because the Pakistani populace went out in large numbers to cast their ballot standing for hours in long queues in scorching heat undeterred by militant’s threats , fear of violence or political subjugation. It clearly reflected the belief of people in democracy and its institutions which sent a very strong message to all non-political and undemocratic forces. Samina Baig becomes the first Pakistani to scale Mount Everest

The pride of Everest must have bowed before the will and determination of Samina Baig when she was gearing up to attempt the earth’s highest mountain. The daughter of the North stamped ‘Mission Accomplished’ scaling Everest on Sunday at 7:40 AM, here in Nepal. She became the first Pakistani lady to conquer the mighty Everest. Samina was accompanied by her brother, Mirza Ali who registered himself as the youngest Pakistani to scale Everest.

Three-day Kalash festival begins today

CHITRAL: The unique Kalash tribes-people residing in the picturesque Chitral district are all set to celebrate the annual Chilimjusht festival as the three-day festivities will start in the three valleys of the Kalash people today (Tuesday). The festival which the Kalash people celebrate to mark the start of the spring season in the scenic Bumburet, Rumbur and Birir valleys, attract local and foreign tourists to the area wishing to observe the distinctive culture of the Kalash people. Protest in Gahkuch against Musharraf’s detention

Thousands of people in Gahkuch took the streets to protest against the arrest of former President and Pakistan’s flamboyant Military General Pervez Musharraf. Protesters chanted slogans in favor of Musharraf and lamented what they call Judicial Activism in Pakistan.

Protesters formed a large rally that marched through Gahkuch Bazar.
