DC Chitral hails civil society’s logistic support to government agencies

DC Chitral at CIADP Ceremony

Chitral— The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chitral, Shauib Jadoon has hailed non-governmental organizations supporting local government administration to build their capacity, especially the Line Departments. He was speaking at ceremony where CIADP was distributing equipments to government organizations. He further said, that capacity could be enhanced not only by machines and technology but through human determination, honesty and perseverance. He stressed upon the Line Departments to work hard and provide relief to the public in any possible way.

Managing Director of Thrive [CIADP], Azar Ayaz said that his organization works with district government as well as with local support organizations (LSO) for the improvement and development of Chitral. He said that Chitral Integrated Area Development Program (CIADP) has already provided equipment having a worth of 3.8 million to health, education, finance department and DC office. The equipment included computers, printers, photo copiers, fax machines, UPS and scanners.

“Currently we are distributing 27 computers, 18 printers machines, 23 UPS, 10 stabilizers, 6 photocopier (multi purpose Photostat machines) 5 fax machines, 6 scanners, 1 monitor and 7 wireless access point (Wi Fi) to Agriculture, Agri Engineering, Social Welfare department, Llive Stock, Communication and Works, Public Health and Revenue Department, worth 5.407 million rupees.” He said. He also exhorted the Line Department staff to make best and efficient use of the equipment.

Some representatives of LSO talking to this scribe raised the issue that C&W department is a rich department, earning millions of rupees but CIADP still provided them computers and other equipments. Such equipment should be given away among low-budgeted Local Support Organizations (LSO) which work for poor people on volunteer and charity basis.

A large number of people were present at the ceremony.
