Cultural event of Yasin held in Gilgit
Gilgit—Yasen-e-Mahraka organized a premier cultural event to announce Hæishhing Àkhéshh (Offbeat Sentiments), a Burüshaski album from Yasin Valley. The event was organized by young cultural-pros of the region through Yasin Writers Forum and the Mahraka (Cultural Parlance). The event took place on Monday at Gilgit Continental Hotel here in Gilgit city.
Muhammad Ayoub Shah, Member GB Legislative Assembly and Ghulam Muhammad, former PPP General Secretary (GB), participated in the event to extend their support to their fellow residents of Yasin. They urged the community of Yasin to harness peace and brotherhood alongside the efforts to promote cultural education.
They promised to support the cultural initiatives and commended the premier show for the upcoming Hæishhing Àkhèshh Album. Speakers at the program highly hailed the endeavours of Basharat Shafi’s work for the Burushaski Literature through the composition of the Album. The choral group of the Album — Basharat Shafi, Mehmood Jan Mehmood, Ustad Zar—performed in the show and their work was highly appreciated.
Participants as well as the guests were engaged in cultural dances. Ghulam Muhammad and Muhammad Ayub Shah, the two in-house rivals of PPP camp, performed traditional dance of Yasin together— a gesture that looked good on them here in the Mahraka.
The event has been admired on social media by the youth of the region. “The souls of Jamaeel Khan, Mazchi Báp— the two legendry poets of Burüshâski— must be smiling. The joint organization of this event, to welcome the Hæishhing Àkhèshh Album, is a great promise to our culture, and it shows unity.” Said Ijaz Hilb, a Karachi based Burüshâski educator, on facebook.
A large number of public and notables from Yasin participated in the event. People tendered their best wishes to the choral group for successful release of their new album.
