Team Ayubia Clinched Dangarikandeh With 6 wickets in Chitral Cricket Tournament
CHITRAL: Tanveer Winter Season Cricket Tournament (TWSCT) concluded with the decisive match between AuvIa Cricket Team, Danin and Dangarikandeh team of Chitral. The Dangarikandeh was beaten by 6 wickets. The tournament had started in December 11, 2011 and 75 teams tested their fists and it was the Auvla’s arms to lift the gigantic trophy of the tournament.
General Manager National Highway Authority (NHA) N-45, Abdul Samad Chitrali was chief guest on the occasion. Along with handing over the trophy, he announced Rs. 10,000 for the organizing committee of the tournament, Rs. 3000 for the winning team and Rs. 2000 for the runner-up.
The Chief Guest praised the youngsters’ involvement in the winter games, equally stressing upon the importance of Educational excellence.
Talking to this scribe, the captains of the final, Umair Ahmad and Ajaz Ahmad told that the main purpose, behind holding such tournaments, was to keep away the youngsters from the prevailing social evils in Chitral such as drug addictions. It also meant to physically keep the community active, they said.
“You see, the new generation has become an electro-human. All the day long they sit on the computers watching movies, listening to the music and stuff like that. It, not only harms their health but distracts them from their studies. There are others who are indulged in dangerous social evils. Sport events can mitigate all these trends” Umair and Ajaz told.
The young players demanded a sports arena in Chitral, for there is no such place where the Chitral community can flourish they physical skills.
