OGDCL negligence, Igniting identity crises in GB

The recently announced National Talent Hunt Program, scholarship announced by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority(OGDCL) in collaboration with IBA Sukkhur has invited applications from only four provinces of Pakistan (KPK, Sindh, Baluchistan and Punjab) but had excluded Gilgit-Baltistan from the list. The website says that hundred students selected from the above-mentioned four provinces in 2017, will be provided fully funded scholarships during their entire four years undergraduate degree program at IBA Sukkhur.

It is surprising to learn that the so-called National Talent Hunt Program, which is offering 300 scholarships has totally ignored the region of Gilgit-Baltistan. Such kind of negligence are igniting sense of deprivation among the youth of the region.

I must request the authorities of OGRA and IBA Sukkhur to revisit the program and allocate equal number of seats to the students of GB as well, as the students of Gilgit-Baltistan should be given priority in such programs, considering the lack of educational opportunities in the region.
