Aga Khan School, Sherqilla Ghizar upgraded to AKHSS, Sherqilla Ghizar

Ghizar: In continuation to providing quality education to the youngsters especially the females, Aga Khan School Sherqilla was upgraded to Aga Khan Higher Secondary School. With this upgradation, the number of AKHS Schools reached up to 4 in Gilgit-Baltistan namely AKHSS Gilgit, AKHSS Gahkuch, AKHSS, Hunza, and AKHSS, Sherqilla.

AKHSS Sherqilla is considered one of the oldest schools providing quality education to the females in Ghizar.

On April 12th, 2014 the inaugural ceremony was arranged in the school premises where it was officially upgraded to Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Sherqilla. Naseer Ahmed, the President Regional Council Ishkomen & Punial was the Chief Guest at the ceremony.

Sulaiman Shah, Principal AKHSS Sherqilla welcomed all the distinguished guests and parents, and described the transitional phases of the school and the achievements students of the school had shown in Aga Khan University, Examination Board.

In his address, the Chief Guest thanked AKESP and other stakeholders who contributed towards this success. Khadija Khan, the General Manager (GM) AKESP, Aien Shah, Head of Education AKESP North and Chitral region and Jahangir Khan former principal of AKHSS Sherqilla also spoke on the occasion.

Parents, students and teachers expressed pleasure over this and said that they would do their best in taking the school up to new heights.
